2024 Nissan Rogue vs 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander
For being a couple of the most popular SUVs, both the Rogue and the Outlander have fair starting prices of around $28k. The difference can be found in the care to detail from their respective designers, and from what we’ve seen, Nissan poured more love into the Rogue with a dynamic build, modern tech, and more interior amenities than you know what to do with! The Outlander may be a decent ride, but it doesn’t go as above and beyond in any category.

Performance
Regardless of the vehicle’s type, Nissan always goes hard with the sporty build and dynamic driving features. The latest Rogue is no different, featuring Nissan’s famous Xtronic CVT for adaptive handling and the available Intelligent AWD system making every adventure feel like a breeze. With a 1.5L VC-turbo engine putting out 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, what usually passes for an obstacle will be of no challenge to you and your Rogue! But if you’re the kind to make your final decision based on fuel economy (which is a good amount of people), the Rogue still comes out on top with 30 in-city and 37 highway miles per gallon.
When it comes to the powertrain, we struggled to find any “wins” for the Outlander. The specs aren’t necessarily bad, the Rogue just happens to do everything better. The Outlander’s 2.5L engine barely puts out 181 horsepower, and the mileage takes a nosedive at 24 in-city and 31 highway miles per gallon. Mitsubishi’s SUV may come equipped with a CVT system, but there’s something about Nissan’s Xtronic CVT that just feels right on the road no matter where your path takes you.

Safety Features
ProPILOT Assist has been Nissan’s latest grand achievement, gaining recognition for the system’s fluid guidance on the road in a way that feels natural and helpful. The 2024 Rogue carries ProPILOT Assist with Navi-Link which offers peak driver-assist technology with the inclusion of navigation-based compatibility. All you need to do is set a destination and your Rogue will set course for smooth sailing. In case you were wondering, the brand kept its promise of including Nissan Safety Shield 360 on all new vehicles, including the latest Rogue. Add Intelligent Around View Monitor to the mix, and it’ll be nearly impossible for anything to get past your sight!

You won’t find any shortage of basic safety features in the new Mitsubishi Outlander, but that might be the problem. While Nissan evolves to cater to today’s driving needs with enhanced technology, the Outlander simply brings you the bare minimum. That includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Mitigation, Rear Automatic Emergency Braking, and a few other features that you’re already well aware of.
Interior
You can set up our Rogue to be a comfortable and stylish chariot with quilted semi-aniline leather-appointed seats and a remote-folding rear row for impeccable accessibility. Available Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control keeps the cabin feeling perfect with zero effort, and the available dual-panel moonroof ups the atmosphere quality. But perhaps the most shocking aspect, the part that makes people’s jaws drop every time we show it, is the sheer amount of space inside the new Rogue. The available Dive-N-Hide system also allows you to utilize 6 possible arrangements to best fit your valuables.

The clear difference between the Rogue and Outlander is in the tech, or the Outlander’s lack thereof. Both SUVs feature an available 12.3-inch customizable driver display and 10-speaker Bose system, but the Rogue is much more user-friendly with its incredibly high level of accessibility and ease of use. People have been begging for wireless Apple CarPlay since its introduction, and that wish has been granted in the new Rogue. Voice recognition, a hands-free text messaging assistant, and wifi hotspot support all work together to curate the perfect cockpit where you’re truly in control with every drive you embark on.
Bottom Line
For a reliable SUV that has plenty to enjoy, the 2024 Nissan Rogue has everything you need from reliable power, incredible mileage, modern safety features, and a spacious cabin that’s driver-friendly. The Outlander may be a capable SUV, but the Rogue is decked out to be more than just your average mom car.
