2025 Nissan Kicks vs 2025 Buick Envista

The new 2025 Nissan Kicks is getting a complete revamp with a unique sneaker-inspired look that no one has dared to create before. We anticipate the new Kicks being on the top of wishlists everywhere among new drivers and curious individuals alike. We find it hard to see just as many people getting excited over the new Envista that basically looks like a slightly oversized sedan. But of course, there’s more to a great ride than looks alone. That’s why we’ll be going over the power, safety, and interior capabilities of these two competitors.

Performance

Despite being as affordable as it is, the 2025 Nissan Kicks surprised us with a decent engine and impressive mileage. All new Kicks models come equipped with a pretty capable 2.0L 4-cylinder delivering up to 141 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. That’s way more than we would expect out of a $21k ride, especially in the SUV category. The Kicks is also a reliable companion with 28 in-city and 35 highway miles per gallon, saving you on both the cost of the car and gas. The CVT system is very simple and easy to get a grasp on, but you can add the available Intelligent AWD system for even better handling on the road.

The new Envista may come at a slightly higher starting price, but it doesn’t show in the quality of the engine. All Envista models come with a 1.2L EcoTech Turbo engine with 137 horsepower which ranks it much lower than the Kicks. It’s built on a 6-speed automatic, which at that point, a CVT system will most likely provide a better driving experience. The Envista also has fewer highway miles at 32 per gallon compared to the Kick’s 35 highway MPG.

Safety Features

Although the Kicks comes at a lower price point, you can still drive with peace of mind with the top-tier safety experience that Nissan is known for. The 2025 Nissan Kicks comes standard with Safety Shield 360 with all of your essentials, making it a great beginner car for new drivers. But for the full experience, you can equip the 2025 Kicks with available features like Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, Intelligent Around View Monitor, and the ProPILOT Assist system that offers intuitive guidance on the freeway.

Like its competitor, the 2025 Buick Envista also comes with a standard safety and driver-assist package with 6 features. That’s nice and all, but it’s lacking in added features that you can include if you want to beef up security. The only available options worth noting are Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Change Alert, and Rear Park Assist. If you think about it, adaptive cruise control is one of those features that have become a standard necessity and so it would be a shame to have to pay extra for it.

Interior

The new 2025 Kicks has an all-new exterior look, and the interior has an intriguing style to match. Like the exterior, the cabin design was also inspired by a pair of speakers given the latest theme of the new Kicks. You can enjoy unique colors and red contrast stitching along with patterns and styling along the dash, chairs, and center console that are unique to the Nissan Kicks. Another one-of-a-kind feature in the new Kicks is the Bose Personal Plus audio system that immerses the driver with speakers built directly into the headrest for an intimate music-listening experience. Nissan even put together a KICKSTAPE playlist for you to enjoy the best that the Kicks has to offer in terms of audio quality!

Like the exterior design, the Envista’s interior is too plain for the outgoing individual. Ordinary cloth seats are trimmed with leatherette material, and the only audio-based improvement is the QuietTuning feature for active noise cancellation. The Envista supports wireless smartphone connectivity and device charging for your convenience, but you can also get those upgrades in the Nissan Kicks.

Bottom Line

There’s a good reason why there’s a lot of buzz surrounding Nissan’s latest ride. The 2025 Nissan Kicks brings us an all-new look that we never even thought possible in a subcompact SUV, and the powertrain and cabin features do a great job of mirroring the fun exterior vibes. The Buick Envista may also be a highly affordable SUV, but the dull appearance and lack of power make it an easy skip.
