2025 Nissan Sentra vs 2025 Subaru Impreza

There’s a reason why you see more Sentras than you do Imprezas. In this messed-up economy, no one can afford to make the wrong choice when going through with a new car purchase. The Nissan Sentra has proven to be a reliable ride over the past couple of decades, and that hasn’t changed. The latest 2025 Nissan Sentra presides over the new Impreza for being easier on the wallet with greater mileage and simplistic components that are easier to fix or replace, all while coming at a lower starting price in New Port Richey.

Performance

Nissan included a humble 2.0L 4-cylinder in the new Sentra, delivering 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. That’s all you need to get around New Port Richey, and including a conservative engine contributes to the Sentra’s incredible fuel rating of 30 in-city and 40 highway miles per gallon. You can customize the Eco Mode setting in the Sentra for gas-saving features that work in your favor.

The new Subaru Impreza may include a 2.0L boxer engine that puts out a little more horsepower at 152 total and an even larger 2.5L upgrade at 182 HP, but it comes at too high of a price. The 2025 Impreza barely gets 27 in-city and 34 highway miles per gallon which can be a dealbreaker for those who want to get the most out of their investment. The Impreza already comes at a higher starting price, but offering 6 fewer highway MPG is crossing the line.

Safety Features

Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 package ensures great value in the new 2025 Sentra, coming with must-have essentials like Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and High Beam Assist. That’s quite a bit for no extra pay, and you can even include Intelligent Forward Collision Warning to the mix as a standard feature outside of the Nissan Safety Shield 360 package in the new Sentra. When you’re looking for a great deal in New Port Richey, the new 2025 Sentra is chock full of safety and driver-assist features at the base-model price.

Subaru’s standard safety package in the new Impreza is called EyeSight Driver Assist, and it comes with much less than you would expect after seeing that the Sentra carries. Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist comes with the bare minimum: Automatic Emergency Steering, Automatic Pre-Collision Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control With Lane Centering. You might be a strong believer in “quality over quantity”, but Nissan’s safety Shield 360 package is the best on both counts.

Interior

The value-packed Sentra is equipped with everything you need and nothing you don’t. We wouldn’t have it any other way for a reliable low-cost sedan. Zero Gravity front and rear seats lay the groundwork for comfort on long drives, and 14.3 cubic feet of trunk space can easily hold your essentials like backpacks and groceries. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto paired with an 8-speaker Bose audio system can get you through long commutes and boring drives. If you want to treat yourself to a little more, you can opt for available sports seats with contrast stitching and WiFi hotspot support in your Sentra when you shop in New Port Richey.

Nothing of note comes standard in the new Impreza. Anything worthwhile only comes as a paid add-on, and that doesn’t bode well for new car buyers who aren’t looking to shell out even more for certain features. So if you don’t want to pay a premium for heated seats, wireless smartphone capabilities, or a moonroof, all you’re left with is a bare and boring interior as punishment for being frugal. Instead, the Sentra rewards you for your decision to be affordable by offering you a ride that doesn’t look like what it costs.

Bottom Line

Why pay more when you’re not actually getting more? That’s why we praise the new 2025 Nissan Sentra for offering more than the Impreza at a much lower starting price. Get better mileage, more driver-assist features, and a more practical interior all without having to pay more than you need to.
