* 2023 NISSAN MURANO VS 2023 CHEVY BLAZER *
For those who take frequent camping trips and other off-roading adventures, it’s essential to have an SUV that can handle the task with minimal effort. Although the Blazer has decent power, the Murano was designed to be above average. It also has the capacity to provide additional safety and driver assist features that are capable of going above and beyond in protecting you and your loved ones.
* Performance *
You can get up to 260 horsepower in the 2023 Murano with its 3.5L V6 engine, but that’s not all. The new Murano is built with a 4-wheel independent suspension system that’s been proven to be much more responsive on rough terrain, especially with the help of resilient rebound springs and rigid stabilizer bars. The power steering is also enhanced with the ability to adjust and adapt according to your speed, and you get the responsive handling of the Xtronic CVT system. And of course, you have the option to include available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive which can also automatically adapt to upcoming road conditions to help keep your grip. With that being said, the 2023 Murano is fully capable of paving the way for an optimal drive without you even needing to try.
The new Blazer comes standard with a 2.0L Turbo bringing in 228 horsepower which greatly falls short of the Murano. You can go with the upgraded Blazer for a 3.6L V6 at 308 horsepower, but of course, that’ll cost you a pretty penny. Other than the 9-speed transmission, the Blazer doesn’t have as much going on for it compared to the Murano. One thing that the Blazer has over the Murano is the 4,500-pound towing capacity, but again, you’ll need to pay much more for one of the higher trims when the Murano’s 1,500-pound towing capacity does the job just fine.
* Safety Features *
The good thing about the Murano (and every other new Nissan) is that the Nissan Safety Shield 360 package comes standard with 6 safety and driver-assist features. But other than what’s already expected, the Murano is also capable of supporting a comprehensive list of Intelligent features:
● Intelligent Cruise Control
● Intelligent Around View Monitor
● Intelligent Forward Collision Warning
● Intelligent Lane Intervention
● Intelligent Driver Alertness
Another neat “Intelligent” feature is the available Nissan Intelligent Mobility feature which can detect any movement around your vehicle and alert you for proactive protection whether you’re parked or on the road. On the other hand, the new 2023 Chevy Blazer comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist with not much room for improvement other than the available Adaptive Cruise Control.
* Interior *
With the new Nissan Murano, every trip can be a comfortable one for everyone along for the ride, no matter how long or short. Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control ensures that each row can keep an ideal atmosphere without you needing to micromanage the controls, and the available climate-controlled seats for the front row do much to enhance the comfort factor. The Zero Gravity design for the seating gives you a literal out-of-this-world experience by giving you a weightless feeling almost equal to that of floating in space.
The temperature-control situation in the Blazer is roughly similar with dual-zone automatic climate control and available heated seating minus the extremely comfortable Zero Gravity chairs. Also, the 8-speaker Bose system falls short of the Murano’s 11-speaker Bose system and the Blazer’s 64.2-cubic feet cargo limit is smaller than the Murano’s expansive 67 cubic feet of space behind the first row.
* Bottom Line *
For the wildest adventures (or just your everyday drive), the 2023 Nissan Murano is better equipped to take you wherever life leads you. It can automatically handle various terrains, support state-of-the-art safety features, and offer plenty of temperature-control options with Zero Gravity seating. The new Blazer is fine as an average SUV, but the Murano undoubtedly has much more to offer.
