2023 Nissan Rogue vs. 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer

When you need an SUV that can kick up dust like it's nothing, there are only a couple of brands you can trust. Nissan and Chevrolet continue to impress by upgrading their popular models to stay relevant no matter what today's market calls for. Now, Maus Nissan of New Port Richey will be showing you around the 2023 Nissan Rogue and 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer!

2023 Nissan Rogue vs. 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer

The Trailblazer is a fantastic SUV which is why it's a fan favorite. But if you take a moment to compare it to the Rogue, you'll discover that Nissan pulled out all the stops when designing the 2023 Rogue. Intuitive power, a more-than-practical interior, and their famous safety feature treatment all make the new Rogue an SUV that you won't want to miss out on.

Performance

Every now and then, the moment might strike you to take a faraway trip. If you want your vacation to go off without a hitch, you'll need a vehicle with a little more oomph behind it. This is why we love the 2023 Rogue and its 1.5L VC Turbo engine with a capacity of 201 horsepower that can easily get you where you need to go. As the company that created the VC Turbo engine, you can expect the Rogue to automatically raise and lower the compression ratio as needed for optimal handling. The inclusion of the patented Xtronic CVT allows you to change gears more quickly while promoting efficient gas mileage at 30 in-city and 37 highway miles per gallon. You can further improve your drive with additional technology:

Intelligent All-Wheel Drive automatically improves grip on the road by transferring power between the front and rear wheels as needed.

Active Ride Control smooths out bumps on the road by adjusting the engine torque upon braking.

Intelligent Trace Control helps you steer through turns more easily by braking each wheel individually.

Hill Start Assist actively holds your brake pressure as you make your way uphill.

After checking out the engine specs for the new Trailblazer, you'll notice that both available powertrains are significantly weaker than the Rogue's single-engine option. The Trailblazer comes standard with an ECOTEC 1.2L Turbo engine capping at 137 horsepower, and the upgraded ECOTEC 1.3L Turbo isn't much better at 155 horsepower. And while you would expect an ECOTEC engine to have better mileage, its 29/33 rating is still much lower than what the Rogue has to offer.

Safety Features

It's very rare for Nissan to come short in the safety category and you'll be glad to know that still won't be the case anytime soon. The standard Safety Shield 360 is already very impressive, coming with many incredibly useful features, but there is much more to enjoy in the 2023 Rogue. You can also have all kinds of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features to watch your back, and the ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link is a prime example of future driving. Your Rogue will be able to effortlessly map out the freeway ahead by detecting and responding to off-ramps, speed limit signs, lane perimeters, and vehicles up ahead to navigate through stop-and-go traffic. When you're in a new Rogue decked out in all of these amazing features, it'll be like you're never driving alone.

The new Trailblazer also comes with a standard collection of essential safety features, but the selection is rather basic compared to the Rogue. Forward Collision Alert, automatic high beams, and lane-keeping technology are something that most vehicles have nowadays. Even the available add-on safety features seem rather underwhelming such as a rear vision camera and lane change alert. Unlike the Rogue, there's nothing that stands out as being ahead of its time.

Interior

There's no point in getting an SUV for road trips if you're not going to be comfortable during the drive, and that's why Nissan went all-out designing the Rogue's interior to be as enjoyable as possible for everyone who's along for the ride. This includes 43.3 inches of legroom in the front row and 38.5 in the rear, heated seats, and available soft semi-aniline leather and Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control. Convenience was also a priority in designing the Rogue's interior with a memory system to keep track of seat adjustments, remote-folding rear seats for easy access, and an available Divide-N-Hide system that can be arranged in multiple ways for optimal storage organization. And of course, the Rogue is kid-friendly to keep the young ones safe.

The 2023 Trailblazer doesn't offer as much in making your road trips easier or more comfortable. The single-zone air conditioner makes it hard for everyone to get adjusted to the atmosphere, you might struggle with the manually-folding rear seats, and there's a lack of seat memory functionality. And while 54.4 cubic feet of maximum cargo space may seem like enough, it's immediately undermined by the Rogue's 74.1 cubic feet capacity. At the very least, both SUVs offer a dual-panel panoramic moonroof and a Bose premium audio system.

Bottom Line

If you want an impressive SUV that can do it all, don't cut corners by going with the Trailblazer as you'll find yourself wishing you chose better when you're struggling during your road trips. The 2023 Rogue is the better option in comfort, functionality, and safety.
