Let’s take a closer look at the all-new 2022 Nissan Leaf.

What’s New?

Nissan started the year right by slashing the price of the Leaf by $5,000, which takes its starting price well below $30,000. And that’s even before you qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit. And they dropped the cost of the Leaf Plus model as well, taking it to a starting price of just over $33,000.

As far as what’s new in the 2022 Nissan Leaf, there may not be enough room in this blog to talk about it all, but we’re going to try! Especially with upgrades and features like the all-new SV Plus Technology package that comes standard with Nissan’s state-of-the-art driver assistance and safety feature ProPilot assist, power driver seat, a 360-degree parking camera, LED headlights, and a driver inattention warning system to boot.

Standard Equipment

They changed what all comes standard now with the base S model’s 16-inch steel wheels, a quick charge port, a portable charge cable, automatic climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen, a four-speaker stereo, and satellite radio, cloth upholstery, and more. If you spring for the S Plus model, you’ll find 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels instead of steel.

In the SV trim, you’ll find features and upgrades like an upgraded heater, 17-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, NissanConnect EV remote services, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a six-speaker stereo, and heated front seats.

Nissan has added upgrades such as standard ProPilot Assist, LED lighting, a surround-view camera system, a Bose sound system, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, a leather seats for the top-end SL trim.

Range

The 2022 Nissan Leaf is designed with a single permanent magnet electric motor that powers the front wheels and puts out 147-horsepower. And the Leaf will give you up to 149 miles of range for those day trips around Florida.

For 2022, Nissan made some adjustments and improvements to the electric motor for the bigger battery Leaf Plus, delivering up to 214-horsepower with a top speed of 98 mph. As far as range, with the S Plus, you’ll get 226 miles and 215 miles for the SV Plus and SL Plus trim levels.

Also, Nissan has equipped both Leaf batteries with a quick-charging port that delivers up to an 80% charge in 40-45 minutes when you use the right kind of charger.
