Similarities and Differences Between the Nissan Ariya and A Tesla

The all-new 2022 Nissan Ariya is making quite a splash on the electric SUV market with an abstract design, advanced powertrain, and high-tech technology and systems while still somehow remaining one of the most affordable EV SUVs out there! Whether you’ve seen one cruising around the New Port Richey area or not, this all-new EV SUV is something to behold.

And it’s giving Tesla a run for its money in many ways. Today, your friends at Maus Nissan New Port Richey wanted to put a quick comparison to the test and see how they stack up to each other. In the ultimate electric SUV head-to-head, you’ll soon see for yourself why the 2022 Ariya is something to behold and an incredible value for your money!

Design

The Ariya makes a bold statement with its futuristic design, and at first look, you may not even be sure where to look. Complete with a sloping roof and split roof spoiler that provides a truly aerodynamic design. Blade-like 20-inch wheels along with a V-shaped grille and angled LED lights create a unique feel in the design that Nissan was aiming for. In addition, the Ariya is the first Nissan to feature their new simple, sleek, illuminated logo on the grille.

However, the Tesla Model Y doesn’t offer any real design upgrades than previous years and features a more simple-looking design. Essentially, if you’ve seen or know someone with the previous model, then you’ve seen what the new model looks like firsthand.

Performance

A significant factor in buying an EV is driving range and charging capabilities. And the 2022 Nissan Ariya doesn’t let you down there. With its 90-kWh battery and front-wheel drive, this EV has a whopping 300-mile driving range and produces a hefty 214-horsepower. If you’re interested in more power and speed, Nissan has you covered with the Nissan e-4ORCE AWD that packs 388-horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque under the hood. In addition, Ariya features incredible fast charging capabilities with only 130 kW of power using a Level 3 DC or 7.2 kW with a Level 2 240-volt.

While the Tesla Model Y has slightly higher performance numbers depending on which configuration you want, it will cost you a fortune for each one. The Long-Range Dual Motor, the Model Y, has a 316-mile range and produces 384-horsepower. While the Performance model gets only a 291-mile range, but it does pack 450 horses under its hood.

Technology

Inside the Nissan Ariya you’ll discover an impressive array of state-of-the-art technology. With dual 12.3-inch screens that showcase a brand-new digital instrument panel and infotainment system where you can access all of Nissan’s innovative automated driving functions thanks to Nissan’s all-new ProPilot Assist 2.0. Also inside, you’ll find wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with an onboard voice assistant.

However, the Tesla Y Model doesn’t have any new upgrades in its newest model release. It essentially copies the same interior as it had in the last model.
